At Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, a child’s birth is a family affair where dads and other family members are welcome. The birthing rooms are cozy to provide a tranquil atmosphere, while high-tech equipment is close at hand to ensure the safety of mom and baby.
Pain-Relief Options
Family Birth Center nurses provide skilled, compassionate coaching to help laboring mothers through the birthing process. When labor is longer or more challenging, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital offers pain management options including epidurals, intravenous (IV) narcotics and intrathecal (spinal) narcotics.

Touring the Birthing Center

Access to Specialty Care
While the majority of pregnancies follow a natural course to the joyful delivery of a healthy baby, choosing Sutter Auburn Faith also provides patients access to the advanced medical care available through Sutter Women's Services. Sutter Women's Services include a special Maternal-Fetal program for problems in pregnancies and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies born prematurely or with medical complications.

Access to Specialty Care
Though the vast majority of mothers and children experience no complications during the birthing process, Sutter Women's Services in the greater Sacramento area offers advanced care to women and children who need immediate access to highly specialized doctors. In addition, the neonatology team located at Sutter Children's Center also works closely with Sutter Medical Center doctors to ensure each child receives the highest level of care in the region.
